LOUISE STEWART (previously CAIN) I have been working as a Journalist for eight years and I have gained a broad range of experience across various media ranging from TV to on-line coverage.
I'm actually qualified as a Mechanical Engineer, but moved into the world of TV as I felt I would be bettered suited to this kind of role. It allowed me to communicate with more people and to be creative as well. My writing skills came to the fore when I was asked to script the first series of Top Ten Bikes for Men and Motors. One series turned into several and I finally moved into full time writing in 2004 when I became British Superbike and World Superbike reporter for motorsport web site Crash.net. Since then I have gone on to write for MCN, Motorcycle Racer, Used Bike Guide, Bike Buyers Guide, Motorcycle Monthly and I’ve contributed to the prestigious Motocourse annual. I now work mainly in PR and current clients include Raceways Yamaha British Supersport team, Mallory Park, the ACU and Westhill Insurance. Last season (2008) I was the press officer to the Rizla Suzuki British Superbike team, I have also worked with HM Plant Honda, Hydrex Honda, Samsung Suzuki as well as individual riders and smaller teams. I enjoy working in the motorcycle world and I am happy to put in the long hours necessary to get the job done. Working to deadline isn’t a problem and I always want to do the best by my clients achieving as much coverage and opportunities for them as possible.Although the bulk of my experience is in the motorcycle world I can write on any given topic and I am happy to explore new avenues and opportunities. HELEN CHAPMAN Having worked within the Motorcycle Industry for 16 years, my skills and knowledge have grown as a result of the responsibility and experience gained over this time. My experience comes from working within Motorcycle News, co-ordinating Industry meetings, assisting with the organisation of the prestigious MCN Awards and liaising with key Industry figures. My responsibilities included handling a budget of £000’s, working closely with the Editor whilst working under pressure to tight deadlines.
Since leaving EMAP Automotive and taking the decision to move into commercial and business development on a freelance basis, I have taken on the responsibility of product placement for key businesses within the Motorcycle Industry, together with growing relationships with major lifestyle, motorcycling and national newspapers and magazines.I have worked with small businesses and larger organisations, one being CIA Insurance as their Dealer Liaison Manager. My main target was to develop and grow relationships with the many dealerships throughout the UK. To increase their dealer affinity programme, ensuring a steady growth of referrals within the call centre. My key objectives when dealing with new business is to provide a creative approach to promote their business. To ensure a full understanding of the product/business I am working with, providing support and ideas to re-establish the business and listen to my clients to ensure expectations are achieved for their business. Within all areas of PR, my aim is to identify new areas of development, work closely with specialist businesses within the Industry in order to understand their target audience and offer a package which will best suit, and grow, their business. With an innovative and creative approach to work, also the ability to adapt to different cultures and styles of working, I enjoy a new challenge and always give 100% commitment. |
